''Challenges of Scale''

To walk a thousand miles
just take one step after another
For some will freeze in awe
and with the trip they just won't bother

A river weaves around a rock
through paths which least resist
And leaves a canyon in its wake
which always will exist

There's nothing made that can't be seen
as the sum of smaller parts
From projects large, to daily chores
to the wishes of our hearts

And we who dream big dreams
should know that we can never fail
As long as our success is viewed
as just a doable challenge of scale

COMMENTARY:
Amassing a savings, losing weight, writing a book, managing a project, even cleaning a messy kitchen (my personal nightmare), are all doable tasks if you see them for what they are: the end result of a series of individual actions. Don't be intimidated by the sheer size of them, or the distance to the goal, or you may lose the will to venture forth. Similarly, long term dreams of who and what we want to be already exist within us on a smaller scale, and we just need to build on them step by step until they come true! Note: The first few Walt's Friday Inspiration emails included quotes from various authors and personalities. It wasn't until episode 19 that I tried my hand at writing the rhyme-based inspirational messages myself. The rest, as they, is history...
