Do you know what it's like, friend, to never feel real
to live life like a shadow you can never reveal?
Do you know what it's like, too, to feel so detached
separated by a distance that's never been matched?
Do you know what it's like to feel empty of tears
never showing the emotions that everyone shares?
Do you know what it's like to have to always pretend
for the game has odd rules you just don't comprehend?
Do you know what it's like to feel outside your self
observing your me-ness while perched on shelf?
Do you know what it's like to have no place called home
where you're welcomed with smiles when you wander and roam?
Do you know what it's like to see others live lives
filled with puppies and children and husbands and wives
And to feel you're not ready or at best ill equipped
for your life reads and runs from a whole 'nother script?
Well perhaps there's a chance you know just what I feel
for our thoughts are no different just always concealed
And we'll come to know soon that there's nothing to fear
when we'll find to our joy there's just one of us here
