Things are either getting better
or in truth they're getting worse
Things are either forward bound
or they're headed in reverse
Every action, every thought
every word or deed
Occurs in context to the past
as flower follows seed
So take a note of where you are
compared to days before
And note the slant of what's revealed
to see if more's in store
Better days and growth in life
are not some random thing
But certain as the sun
if you maintain the upward swing!
