''In Spite of the Loss''

Everything you've worked for
and everything you prized
Has suddenly been stripped away
laid bare before your eyes

You couldn't have foreseen it
really, how could you have known
You'd reap a bitter harvest
from those sweeter seeds you'd sown?

But reason, season, lifetime
is the way the saying goes
And blessings shall this cloud too bring
in time we must suppose

The best that you can do
within this interim of pain
Is figure how the pieces fit
to build your life again

Yes, use the loss as leverage
to lift things back in place
The rush to fill the vacuum
might become your best-run race

For who shall say what good shall come
when things come to an end?
We use endings to grow
evolve, transform and then transcend
