''World of Ice''

I made myself a world of ice
with no place warm to go
Convinced myself the world was cold
then simply made it so

I made myself a world of fear
with ogres all about
Afraid they seek to cut me down
I never do go out

I made myself a world of work
with no time out to play
There's always one more thing to do
perhaps I will one day

I made myself a world of one
with no one to call friend
For proven over time
on self alone can I depend

But lately things have shifted
as both sun and season change
The world I made is crumbling
it all feels somewhat strange

If warming trends continue
I may wake to find one day
No need for silent suffering
as glaciers melt away

COMMENTARY:
Don't let the world of ice define your life this year. Find someplace warm to dwell.
