''Roots''

Leaves will find their way to soil
despite how far they've blown
Seeds will bear their father's fruit
wherever they are sown

Grazers find familiar fields
to taste remembered greens
Nomads find a path back home
by any ways and means

Waves will find a flow to shore
though once to sea were drawn
Fish will find the mother stream
and there return to spawn

Like trees in search of sun and sky
we seek a life profound
But often find our strength to grow
wherever roots are found

COMMENTARY:
Sometimes it is in the familiar fields we seek to escape that our greatest strength for growth can be found.
