''I Remember Who I Am!''

Adorned in clothes of sabotage, self hate as my veneer
I can't tell when it happened; when I lost that spark divine
That image of a winning me it seemed was always mine
My comfort zone contracted and my vision: dimmed and dulled
To passive insecurity it seemed I had been lulled
But lately I've had flashbacks to a me of greater girth
A me of height and power bestowed way before this birth
A me of star-like aspiration waiting in the wings
Once coaxed back on to center stage is destined for great things
It's not a walk I dread or one I'm unfamiliar with
It represents a comeback to my legend and my myth
Through eyes that shined, regaled, refined each moment was a dream
A golden age of grandeur I once lived to its extreme
This me of past remembrances who lived life at first cause
It all started to click once I remembered who I was
COMMENTARY:
It wasn't always like this, my friend. You weren't always like this. Sometime before you came to be this way, you were dining with kings, walking the thornless path and you saw the world through boundless eyes. Your mission is to get back to that place. The challenge most people face is that they simply haven't been convinced of the reality of their desired identity. But it's not an identity that never existed or one that you need to create. For far greater than this have you been. The things that you envision for your life are but memories you need to reclaim. Start today with this simple affirmation: "I remember who I am!"
