''Conflict of Expansion''

It wasn't fear of falling that was keeping me at bay
it wasn't lack of knowledge or not knowing what to say
It wasn't that my vision was too blurred to see the real
it wasn't lack of clarity of how it made me feel

Instead it seemed the factor that obstructed this my rise
was reconciling views of me that danced before my eyes
For once I glimpsed the secret me my heart new I'd become
in battles over dominance was how dreams might succumb

Until I played the part with strength and simply took control
I'd never come to terms or live the dream of this my role
This "conflict of expansion" made my life a tug of war
with contradictions, doubts and mental growing pains galore

This conflict of expansion said "no way can you be this!"
then gave me tastes of satisfaction, ecstasy and bliss
This conflict of expansion made me doubt if I could deal
then stacked the deck so clearly that it seemed almost surreal

The battle waged, confusion reigned with little progress made
until a friend explained to me just how the game was played
A shift occurred; lo and behold I found the courage sought!
and vanquished foe and fear no longer plagued by errant thought

And then a peace descended as the fogs of thought subside
I reconciled the me of past with who I am inside
And now unfettered, free, I realize the world awaits
I take my rightful place among the pantheon of greats!

COMMENTARY:
I hereby give you permission to be the you you've been told you couldn't be. Be strong if you are strong. Be weak if you are weak. Say the things you think but are afraid to say. Be the you your thoughts tell you you really are. Those who can't deal will walk away. You'll attract more of those who are in synch with you. Take your rightful place. Do it now.
