Hey All,
When I sent out the email on Monday requesting feedback on the Lyrics for Living CD, I got quite a few positive responses, including this one:

"ABOUT TIME, WALT!! Sometimes humility or modesty may be perceived as selfishness, when it means denying others the gift given you to share, but which you choose not to."-L.B.

It gave me something to think about. I'd never thought about it that way before. I hastily sent my "apology" to LB and asked her not to judge me too harshly! But, I had to share some of my thoughts about the "accusation"

I'll share with you a secret
but be gentle once you hear
I'm guilty, yes, but selfish, no
The reason now is clear

It's not an act of selfishness
that's had me wait this long
But who am I to think (I thought)
the world would want my song?

Mandela said we fear our light
more strongly than the dark
Like many, I am one, too who
relates to that remark

But now I've heard some yeses
and I've even sold a few
I'm anxious now to share the gift
a CD? Me? Who knew??

Forgive me, then, the day's near when
you'll purchase and push play
And what you hear will justify
this seven-year delay!

COMMENTARY:
So, now, the fact, is I'm truly excited about putting this project together! And just between you and me, a CD WILL, in fact, be produced (regardless of popular demand! :-) ). So, you may as well place your order now, since there'll be a limited first printing.

Thanks to Grace P. of New Jersey, who was the first to hop online to purchase the soon-to-be-released Lyrics For Living CD Volume 1.

*And, for the sake of accuracy, the Mandela quote referred to is actually by Marianne Williamson, as quoted by Nelson Mandela. Here it is:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."-Marianne Williamson
