''The Trouble With Being Enlightened''

is I see all things as good
So poverty and pain
don't motivate me like they should
The trouble with being enlightened
is that nothing pulls my strings
'Cause it's all just an illusion
"y'know... in the cosmic scheme of things"
The trouble with being enlightened
is I hear a different drummer
I'll say things, and I'll get strange looks
man, that can be a bummer
The trouble with being enlightened?
the in-betweens I often skip
I'm at the destination
before I even start the trip!
The trouble with being enlightened
is most people can't relate
They're all caught up in drama
trapped by lies of war and hate
But, what's good with being enlightened
is I row gently down this stream
For merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
life is but a dream!
(See? There's that strange look again!)
COMMENTARY:
I shared a laugh recently with my good friend, Erroll.P., who always seems to provide the inspiration for some of my more off-the-beaten-path Life Rhymes (see Walt's Life Rhyme# 154: "I 'Aint Goin' Out Like That!"). We were discussing the fact that if the Inspirations represent a path of spiritual growth with the goal of eventual enlightenment, then what on earth's going to happen when we finally get there?
Think about it. At some point in the future, once we all complete the journey of enlightenment, the inspirations will be quite unnecessary. When you reach that state of perfect inner bliss, when you understand the universe's grand cosmic design, and you're at peace with all, and at war with none. What on earth can you learn from a weekly email. The inspirations may evolve to be quite short as they meet the needs of those whom they serve. For example

Heck, you might not even need that! I may not need to say anything at all!
