in terms of what's to come
Men of blindness trust what's passed
and from the new they run
Men of vision practice hard
preparing to advance
Men of blindness laze
and leave their outcomes up to chance
Men of vision seek to be
right where the ball will land
Men of blindness watch the game
but don't quite understand
Men of vision make their move
and grab the ball and play
Men of blindness wait
and watch the moment slip away
Men of vision take the shot
and move to win the game
Men of blindness miss the chance
their scorecard stays the same
Men of vision act because
despite how things may seem
The future's what you do today
regardless of your dreams
....and by the way
Lest you think the game is won
by only what men do...
The things that men of vision do
applies to women too!
COMMENTARY:
Success belongs to those who embrace change, prepare for opportunity, anticipate future trends, seize their chance when it appears, act decisively, and focus on doing today the things they want to see themselves doing tomorrow.
What are you doing today to bring your dreams of tomorrow to life? Even when things were at their worst for me (i.e. lights turned off, telephone disconnected, losing my apartment, etc.), I refused to spend time looking for a job since that was not what I saw myself doing in the future. So I refused to spend time doing it in the present. The truth is, unless you make some drastic changes in thoughts and behavior, what you continue doing today is most likely what you'll be doing tomorrow!!! (Another one inspired by Kiyosaki's Retire Young, Retire Rich book.)
