''Breathe as You Move''

while moving through life,
but that somehow you've not yet "arrived?"
Friend, I know how you feel,
but the peace that you seek
is here now not the end of the drive
If you really could just "get it"
now this once and for all:
in the drive is where value resides
If you can just feel the journey
holds all the reward, and that it's you
not the world who decides
No one's watching, or judging
really no one keeps score
and if they do, man, quite frankly, who cares?
Take a rest stop, plan detours
heck, plan a whole different trip!
and if you do, that's no business of theirs!
So don't sweat "where to next?"
or even "when will I reach?"
(though it may feel like a race against time)
What should matter most really
is that you live what you love
and experience your grand purpose sublime
The sign "Welcome to Life"
passed you a long time ago
don't hold your breath, you've got nothing to prove
The trick to this trip's
just keep driving ahead
and don't forget: always breathe as you move!
COMMENTARY:
It's too easy to get caught up n the perceived "final destination" and lose sight of the fact that you're already living your life right now! This is it! The vision of your ideal life is always just an extension of the here and now, so you've already "reached." You're simply on a leg of the journey defined by today's set of goals.
Now, don't get me wrong. All the efforts, struggles, setbacks, triumphs & milestones are necessary and noble parts of the pursuit of the goals that we seek. But, remember, there will always be new goals, and as long as you're here, every day lived is an extension of the journey. Therefore, you can't delay your enjoyment of your being here to some future date when you've "made it." Instead, make every effort to live in a "now" that includes the laughter, the enjoyment, the travel, the time spent with friends and family, and every ideal that you associate with your "destination."
The sign that you're looking for that says "Welcome to your Life" is one we all passed on day one! Don't put your breath, or any other aspect of living on hold waiting for it to come by again!
