Whenever I do my Passion To Profit Workshops, I often start by encouraging participants to resist the temptation to argue on behalf of their limitations. Many people are so accustomed to seeing the glass as half-empty that in the course of their conversations, they seem bent on defending their right to failure. They'll quote chapter and verse, forwards and in reverse in support of why their great idea won't work, or why they're destined to fail because of the odds. Consequently, I find myself arguing on behalf of their potential and possibilities while they defend their limitations. How would their words and attitudes be different if they chose instead to work with me and argue for their own potential? Hmmmm?

The funny thing 'bout life is this
I know it won't seem kind
The view of you held most by you
is often what you'll find

The world is like a mirror, see?
it matters not the face
You'll only see reflected
what's already there in place

But what if in this case instead
you took the winner's lead
And argued for yourself
as if you're likely to succeed?

The evidence is often there
all you need to do is look
Examples of your winning ways
could often fill a book

Pretend that you're defending
all opposing points of view
And launch a case of what could be
and argue against you

So try this trick right now, my friend
it's worked for me because
Defending your potential
shows the world you have just cause

You argue limitations
and your limitations stay
Present your case against them
and you'll chase them all away!
