''My Secret Wish''

What words can I now share today
that haven't since been said?
What food for thought is mine to give
on which you have not fed?

For if I had to choose one gift
to leave you with today
I'd wish my weekly words had strength
to help you in some way

I'd wish there was some magic dust
some spell that I could cast
To bring to life a death-bed hope
undo a pain-filled past

I'd wish that those who live in fear
would find their own brave heart
I'd wish that those who loved and lost
could just forget that part

I'd wish that those who yearn to climb
who stumble, fall and cry
When faced with mountains from now on
won't even ask how high

I'd wish that those who've lost the strength
to fight that inner fight
Would find the will somewhere inside
to simply set things right

I'd wish that those whose pleas for help
seem oft to go unheeded
Would find the ones whose need to give's
what makes them feel most needed

I'd wish that everyone could know
the pleasure of the day
That starts with a reminder
that you've made life your own way

Perhaps next week I'll find the words
to make my wish come true
Perhaps you'll find your inspiration
lives right where you do

So if by chance next week, my friend
you fail to hear my voice
I hope the echo urges you
to live life by your choice!
