If the farmer missed the clues
that showed the crop was on the rise
Then he'd know not where to water
and the plant, neglected, dies

If the runner missed the signs
that showed the finish line was near
Then she might give up the race
and run instead towards her fear

If the sailor missed the stars
that showed him where the land should be
Then he might turn 'round too soon
and be forever lost at sea

If the seeker in her seeking
knew not where to cast her eyes
Then she might live on in darkness
for she'd miss the day's sun rise

Miss the clues you should be using
and instead lament the strife
Miss the moment that your efforts
take on form and come to life!

COMMENTARY:
Of course, the trick is to understand how things work on the planet called success. In this strange new world, plants can grow in places where it seems you haven't planted seeds. So be vigilant. Finish lines appear when it seems the race has just been lost. So always be on your mark. Land appears when it seems you're adrift in deep waters. So keep scanning the horizon. And the sun may rise today from where it has always set. So look both ways for the coming of the sun.
