''The Double Agent''

the one you trust beyond all doubt
Might one day turn and be
the very one who sells you out
The one who always comes to mind
when others call your name
May end up on a rival team
intent to thwart your game
So what on earth are you to do
when spies are all around
And each attempt to rise above
is prone to be shot down?
Just keep a watchful eye
but know through secrecy and stealth
The double agent in your life
might just be you yourself
The very thing that makes you you
may also hold you back
The you that makes the world go wow
may keep you steeped in lack
The tools you use for planting seeds
won't work for reaping fruit
And traits that help you run away
might fail you in pursuit
So strive always for balance
but let just one you take the lead
Assign the task to you who's
best equipped to do the deed!
COMMENTARY:
It's often true that the thing that makes you a good business person, makes you rate poorly in relationships. The thing that makes you a great artist, hinders you from being able to take care of business.
Our greatest talent is often our greatest stumbling block to success in another key area. Your relationship-oriented side has taken the lead in your private life, for example, and made you liked by all. However, in your business and professional life, it allows others to take advantage of you.
It won't be easy, but there's an untrained, undeveloped side of you that needs to be given a different assignment. Assign business tasks to the you who's better equipped for business success. Unless you do, you'll end up sabotaging the very dream you seek. Note: The first few Walt's Friday Inspiration emails included quotes from various authors and personalities. It wasn't until episode 19 that I tried my hand at writing the rhyme-based inspirational messages myself. The rest, as they, is history...
