HOW DEEP THE S*** HOLE?
Every day the discourse plummets
every day the bar descends
Hit rock bottom but keep digging
down a hole that never ends
Every day what's crass turns normal
idiocracy prevails
Like a train wreck in slow motion
Watch. The cars. Run off. The rails.
Every day the world doth snicker
you've become a laughing stock
The highest office? Fodder now
to ridicule, lampoon and mock
Evil triumphs, it's been said
when good men just fail to act
Evil triumphs, we might learn
when all who see deny what's fact
Some still justify the madness
some still rationalize away
All the while the clock keeps ticking
counting down to judgement day
How much evidence is called for?
what more proof do good men need
That the man who holds the office
is a sad and sorry breed?
Ask "what purpose serves a leader?"
instigator? circus clown?
To help us wallow in the mire?
to lead us up or lead us down?
So, down we go, yes ever deeper
towards the bottom of this pit
Let's hope we never get to learn
how deep goes this hole of...crap!
