Life should be getting easier
if it's not then you haven't quite learned
That expectations alone cause you pleasure and pain
and you get from life that which you've earned

Fruits and seeds will yield to your pressure
and flowers give their nectar to bees
And if you tap them just right and are willing to wait
even sap will start flowing from trees

But in time you'll come to discover
what the wise and the prudent have known
That no matter how much you press it or plead
you just can't get juice from a stone

COMMENTARY:
Unhappiness is an unmet expectation. More and more, I've come to realize that happiness is under my control. This is such a powerful concept, that I want to revisit it today.

What are you feeling sad about? What are you disappointed with? Who's not bending to your will, doing what you want them to do, or acting how you think they should act?

Chances are whatever you're unhappy about at this exact moment has to do with an expectation that you had that was not met. Instead of allowing people or situations to be as they are, you've decided to use this as an occasion to make yourself unhappy.

If, however, you simply realized that people and situations don't make you unhappy, it's your attachment to specific expectations that does, then you'd be able to control your unhappiness.

Here's the trick. In life you should expect the best outcome. For it's the vibrations of your positive expectations that will attract the good into your life. But don't dwell on it. if your dreams don't come true right away, hold on to the expectations, but detach them from your disappointment. If things don't work out as planned, renew the expectation and continue the journey.

In other words, attach your positive emotions to the dream. But separate your negative emotions from the outcome. And most importantly, remember that people will be who they've come here to be. You can't expect something for someone else that they don't see and expect for themselves. In other words, you can't get juice from a stone.
