''The Clear Drive Forward''

The clear drive forward frightens
when there's nothing in the way
If all the roads you took before
were filled with disarray

The path of plenty petrifies
when poor is all you've known
And skills for mere survival
are the only ones you've honed

You lose your balance standing
if you've always walked through wind
So give yourself some time to change
...the way it's always been

COMMENTARY:
Have you ever been walking against the wind, leaning forward to keep your footing, and then all of a sudden the wind stops? If you're not careful, you might lose your balance.

When for all your life you've steered through mine-filled, pothole-laden terrain, or if you've gotten so accustomed to chaos, noise, discord and struggle, then when a clear, peaceful path presents itself, you may not even recognize it at first. Worse, you may not know exactly how to move forward. But, rest assured, if you give yourself a little time to adjust to the new landscape, and perhaps seek the counsel of those who've traveled it before, you'll do just fine.
