''Promises''

When rent is due and checks don't clear
and bills in piles hide deep
When ringing phones inspire fear
these words I hope you'll keep

Success, you see, is like a house
and lies are sinking sand
Your word, your bond, must be like rock
the strength on which it stands

A promise kept is all it takes
to keep the world at bay
Start anywhere your word is weak
and strengthen what you say

Refund the world for stock it bought
in worthless words you sold
Through faith in time your house restored
built high on solid gold
