I felt my heart starting to reel
But if I let you see me look
you'll know too soon just how I feel
I'm aching to approach you
and say some words to break the ice
But if I make the first move now
you may respond just to be nice
I'm thinking that I should call you
and put my ego on the side
But if I throw my mask away
I leave myself no place to hide

and that those words I soon will hear
But if I'm bold and say them first,
I'll never know if you do care
But if I go on waiting
and never risk until "you first"
I'll be safe that's true, but so alone
and I don't know which one is worse
Well I've decided to be happy
and live within this simple truth:
"Never be afraid to go out on a limb,
that's where you'll find the sweetest fruit."
