''How to Let It Go''

that our ego's vested in
We strive to be what we are not
and see what we are as sin
There's struggle in opposing truth
for what's denied will last
Resist it and it pushes back
accept and it will pass
It's what you say does not exist
that lingers on for years
What's railed against is given life
what's seen then disappears
The man who sees things as they are
can then be free to grow
For 'til you hold a thing in hand
you cannot let it go
COMMENTARY:
"Most people hear insults when only an observation has been made, if what is being observed is something they don't want to own."--Neale Walsh
If someone called you "short," would you be offended? You would if you wished you were tall. When you deny reality, you're saying it does not exist. You can't control something that does not exist. Only when you accept what is, and are no longer ego-vested in being something else, can you then hope to move beyond the control it has over you, and actually become something else! Note: The first few Walt's Friday Inspiration emails included quotes from various authors and personalities. It wasn't until episode 19 that I tried my hand at writing the rhyme-based inspirational messages myself. The rest, as they, is history...
