''Dream Maker''

I peer into the water
as my boat now finds its way
To finally discover
what the river has to say

But the waves do not announce themselves
and currents never speak
And blowing winds pitch only
to the sails of dreams we seek

For this truth I asked the river
who beneath thy waves reside?
Who propels me as dream maker?
who has been my journey's guide?

Then the stream took pity on me
and it whispered from my wake
And the waves revealed the secret
of adventures most won't make

Just look deep, the river tells me
deeper still and soon you'll see...
But alas all I saw peering
was my own face back at me

COMMENTARY:
What dream shall you create today?

p.s. Have you ever had a song just get caught in your head and haunt you for days on end, 'til you find yourself singing or whistling it all day? Well, today's life rhyme is inspired by the lilt and lyrics of "Moon River" by Henry Mancini & Johnny Mercer:

Moon River

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style, someday
Old dream maker, you heart breaker
wherever you're going, I'm going your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me
