''Life and Cake''

Things once whole get cracked and dashed,
what's sweet may lose its taste
Parts combine and change their form
dissolved into a paste

Objects sift from course to fine
what's clear may oft get blurred
Batter, beaten whipped a while
the whole mess will get stirred

Burned into a whole new shape
before you may partake
Things aren't always what they seem
in ways of life and cake
