It seems sometimes that men are vile
and love does not exist
And morals on the downward slide
are futile to resist

You'll see men opt for war
and choose the path of least sun light
And wonder if it's even sane
to hope things turn out right

There'll be a feeling oft confirmed
things change but stay the same
And gifts you share mean less and less
and wonder why you came

You'll find, dismayed, that kindred souls
are few and far between
And hearts that beat and bleed like yours
are very seldom seen

So though it seems that most are lost
and wander in the dark
A torch once lit will guide them home.
Perhaps you'll be the spark
