''Assets and Facets (My Brilliant Cut)''

There's more to me than meets the eye
I freely now admit
The sun's about to touch my face
and all will soon see it

You've known me in one setting
and assumed that's how I'm cut
You think that's all there is to me
now watch the stuff I strut

I've come this far quite hidden
once content behind the seen
But now a new game has begun
you'll know soon what I mean

With facets of my brilliance
no more to be denied
And storehouses of assets
I'll no longer hoard and hide

A lode of ores I've not yet tapped
much good that's mine to mine
Beware all ye the rising sun
you've not yet seen me shine!

COMMENTARY:
Definition--
Brilliant-cut: A cut gemstone having 56 to 58 facets to maximize the volume of light that is reflected from the inside and thus produce the greatest brilliance. Dedicated to Diamond D., and to everyone else to use as an affirmation of your brilliance!

OUTTAKE:
The best of me was born today
you'll watch and beam with pride
The sun and I will shine
and show the world another side
