''The Deer and the Hunter ''

"Be careful what you take for truth from news peddlers.
The antelope's report about the hunt is far different
from the story the hunter tells."
--Padmore's Grandma

The Deer and the Hunter

The hunter tells a story
And the deer she tells one too
But lo you'll find the teller
makes you doubt which one is true

For perspective alters plotline
and your purpose feeds your point
And advice on where to walk
to say the least may disappoint

For the one who tells the story
tells the tale to suit his kin
so before you praise the moral
know the story that YOU'RE in!

COMMENTARY: As with all advice and conclusions about life that we accept, it's important to know the perspective, personality, pre-disposition, and predilections of the person who offers them. Whose story do you want to live?

Today's offering was inspired by Padmore Agbemabiese, a professor at Ohio State University, and one of the international members of my poetsniche.com website. Padmore wrote me this morning and I checked out the link to his site which features his "Go Ask Grandma" page. I was immediately inspired (which was a good thing, since at 8:00am this morning, I still hadn't penned the Inspiration for today). Check out Padmore's site where you'll find other great proverbs from his Grandma! http://padmorea.0catch.com/index.html
